Lawrence (Lofty) Gallagher BEM, 30th April 1945 - 19th May 1982
Lawrence, who was known by all as Lofty joined 22 Special Air Service Regiment from 9 Independent Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers in January 1968.
He was one of the twenty men from the Special Air Service and attached arms, who tragically lost their lives during the Falklands war when a Sea King helicopter crashed while cross decking troops from HMS Hermes to HMS Intrepid. He was 37 years of age.
