For many years, the Journal has been a great source of information and a means to keep in touch, as well as providing an extensive archive of what we've been up to. Let's keep it going.
Bill (Ali) Barber, formerly of 1st Platoon 9 Field Coy (Airborne) died on Saturday 27th January 2001. Bill took part in the battle of Arnhem where he was taken POW. A lifetime friend of Len 'Tubby' Raggett, who died last year, Bill was a regular attendee at the Oosterbeek service of remembrance, and attended all the early Double Hill Services. Bill and Len together with Jigger Price and Harry Stokes were a great group of friends, who gave tremendous support and encouragement to the Double Hills event. Bill had suffered poor health in recent years, but never allowed this to dampen his enthusiasm for life. His friends and colleagues will greatly miss a grand character.
