Michael Paternoster

Details received via email from Michael's Grandson, Stephen Paternoster

Michael David Anthony Paternoster was born on 30th April 1941 in Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.

Michael met Peter John Mitchell Pellereau In 1962 and he was Commanding Officer of 131 Parachute Engineer Regiment (TA) and became friends with his valet Ken Jones and also fixed Pellereaus car as he worked as a mechanic in Crowthorne.

Michael joined 131 Parachute Engineer Regiment (TA) on 31st January 1963 but had his medical on 24th January 1963 and would be stationed at Kingsbury. Michael was in 131 LAD REME and attached to 302 Parachute Field Squadron. Whilst in TA Michael would go to Wales and climbed Snowdon and did 5 to 7 parachute jumps some at Aldershot and RAF Abingdon and one in Cyprus and earned his parachutist wings.

Michael went out to Cyprus for annual camp Exercise New Venture in April 1963 and stayed at tuxedo camp at Dhekelia and was there for two weeks. Upon returning from Cyprus Michael would meet his future wife Pearl Mitchell and paid one last visit to Peter Pellereau at his bungalow in Crowthorne and discharged from TA on 4th November 1963.

Michael passed away on 20th April 2009.
