Jim Thackway

Jim died on the 30 March 2008 in Hereford hospital. Jim was born 1945 in the Shankill area of Belfast and joined the army in 1963 volunteering for 9 Indep Para Sqn and seeing active service in Aden.

He went to Hereford in 1967 and joined B Sqn seeing more active service in Dhofar and Northern Ireland and being wounded at least once in Dhofar.

Jim left the Army in the mid 70's and worked on the security circuit and also had a small jewellery business, he also managed to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Geography and Political Science.

Jim was married to Chris and had 2 daughters Samantha and Lizzie.
