Roll of Honour

Peter Watt

Peter passed away in July 2017. After his upbringing in a large family in The Inch in Edinburgh, Peter joined 2 Tp of 300 Sqn, 131 lndep Para Regt (RE) (TA) in the late 1950s. Following his initial training and successful parachute course he became a regular at training weekend's courses and annual camps in the UK, Cyprus and Germany before leaving the TA in the early 1960s. A life changing event in Peter's life was his attendance at a plant course at RSME in Chatham. This allowed him to move from unskilled employment and pursue a remunerative career as a plant operative in Civvy Street.

Peter was an AEA member but attended Branch meetings very seldom, so we were unaware of his passing until recently. He did however have good friends and was well cared for towards the end. He lived the last thirty or so years of his life at a mobile home park and the management have erected a bench and plaque there in his memory. Three former 2 Troop members who remembered him well visited the bench, nodded at Peter and then retired for refreshments
